Marinda is a faculty member for Prairie Yoga's Advanced Teacher Training Program. As a CE provider through Yoga Alliance, Marinda enjoys teaching workshops on the topics of adjustments, sequencing and the use of yoga props, like the chair and the rope wall. She is a residential trainer in the study of consciousness for The Monroe Institute in VA, with her husband, Bob, and is a certified 1:1 Provider for the Institute of HartMath, CA.
Marinda shares her life with her husband and two Rottweilers, Bismarck and Chloe. She welcomes yoga students of all levels with enthusiasm and holds the seat of the teacher with gratitude.
Her motto: "When One person teaches, Two people learn."

Marinda Stopforth instructs the following:
  • Yoga Siyadala: Activating the 5th Chakra, Vishuddha, and Expressing Your Creative Self
  • The South African word, Siyadala (see-ya-da-la) means “We create!” As committed students of yoga, we spend a lot of time learning how to ground, reach, twist, fold and back bend to help us connect to our true Self. In this workshop, we will expand our yoga practice to include breath work, mantra, meditation and delve into the power of sound. By utilizing modern techniques such as headphones, we can activate and enhance the upper energy centers and their functions. This workshop is dedicated to the 5th chakra, Vishuddha, translated as “pure” or “purification”.

The Vishuddha chakra is the place from where you manifest and create your life. It is the energy center from where you express your heart-felt wants, needs and desires. If the energy of Vishuddha runs clear and clean, you are able to express your heart energy (4th chakra) easily and effortlessly and connect to the "inner hearing" and "inner seeing" located at your 6th chakra (Ajna). The Vishuddha chakra is empowered by adding sound to breath - thus the practice of chanting greatly enhances the clearing and raising of your throat center energy.

    In this workshop, we will:
    • practice selected asanas that support the 4th, 5th and 6th chakras
    • learn and practice chanting to enhance the function of the throat chakra
    • learn about the relationship between the 4th, 5th and 6th chakras and how they influence each other
    • listen to sound recordings with special auditory signals that support and guide your meditations
    • learn how to create and manifest your life through the energy of your 5th chakra
    • have the opportunity to cultivate greater intuition, "in-sight" and "inner hearing"
This workshop is limited to 20 students.
Headphones will be provided. (If you have a favorite headset, you're welcome to bring it.)
Pre-registration is required at least 3 days prior to the workshop date.
