Amy Massat is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT), Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), and Prairie graduate of the 500 hour advanced program. She studies regularly with Iyengar teachers Kathleen Wright, Lois Steinberg, Chris Saudek, and Janet MacLeod and was able to attend the first intensive with Geeta Iyengar in Pune and first US convention with Abhijata Sridhar in Boca Raton. Amy came to yoga as another form of exercise and quickly learned it is so much more. She enjoys sharing yoga with others to help enhance their overall well being. She is a professional in human resources and in her free time enjoys being outdoors, hiking, horse back riding, canoeing and partner dancing.

Prerequisite: Must have prior experience in the Iyengar method and able to practice sirsasana and sarvangasana or their modifications independently. Class is taught by a certified Iyengar teacher and emphasizes alignment and technique within an intelligently sequenced class. Props are used to facilitate learning and provide support for less flexible students. This mindful approach is highly recommended for for those who want to deepen their understanding of alignment in asana, as well as those with back issues and other muscular or skeletal imbalances. The level 2-3 class is for experienced yoga students and includes inversions such as headstand and shoulderstand.
Multi-style Yoga 1-2
This multi-style class is for experienced beginners and intermediate students looking to build strength and flexibility and improve their overall well-being. A wide variety of yoga postures, breathing exercises and meditation techniques are taught. The teacher will give options and provide guidance so that all students can participate safely.
