About Us

Welcome to Chicago-area’s premiere yoga school, Prairie Yoga, in the west suburb of Lisle, IL. We are dedicated to providing you with the highest quality yoga experience possible. We offer a wide variety of yoga classes, from beginning to advanced. We believe that yoga is for everyone– the young and the old, the stiff and the flexible, the new and the experienced. Our teachers are here to support you and will make you feel welcome and comfortable the moment you step into our studio. 

What makes our yoga center different?

Our yoga teachers are some of the most experienced and highly trained in the area. Most of our instructors are 500 CYTs and have completed many hours of advanced training beyond their certification. They will provide you with clear instruction to improve your alignment, connect to your breath, focus your mind and make you feel good. Our team of teachers will adapt the yoga practice to your needs, whether you are:

  • looking to improve your overall health,
  • an athlete who wants to improve your game,
  • dealing with a chronic illness or injury,
  • or an experienced yoga practitioner seeking to take their practice to the next level.

Our classes draw from a variety of yoga styles. Rather than narrowing our approach to one style or method, unless designated otherwise, our teachers incorporate a variety of styles in their teaching.

Our yoga classes emphasize moving with mindfulness and alignment at all levels. When practiced with close attention to alignment and breathing, yoga has tremendous power to heal and transform. Our intention is to safely improve your flexibility, increase your strength and calm your mind. We will challenge you at a level appropriate for you, whether making the pose more accessible or taking it to the next level of difficulty as you progress.

Our class sizes allow you to receive individualized attention. Most of our classes have 5-15 students in them. If you have a question or need help, our teachers can assist you.

We teach all aspects of yoga, not just the physical postures (asana). Yoga can significantly improve your physical and mental health from your very first class. In addition to the physical postures, breathwork, meditation, relaxation techniques and yoga philosophy provide valuable tools to enhance your overall well-being.

Unless indicated otherwise, there is no need to pre-register for our weekly classes. Most of our classes are on-going and you may attend at any time. Just arrive a few minutes prior to fill out a new student form and pay for the class.

Prairie Yoga features a state-of-the-art studio with all the props you need to practice yoga.

We are easy to get to, just one block from I-355 and Ogden Avenue in Lisle, IL, and our studio is located on the first floor with plenty of free parking. Our yoga classes serve Chicago’s west and south suburban area: Lisle, Naperville, Downers Grove, Glen Ellyn, Wheaton, Woodridge, Lombard, Oak Brook, Bolingbrook, Orland Park, Aurora and many suburbs near I-355 and I-88. Our yoga workshops and yoga teacher trainings draw students from Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan.
